Steve Gardner
Steve Gardner is a native of Appalachia with a BS in Agricultural Engineering & MS in Mining Engineering and Environmental Systems Certification from the University of Kentucky. He is a member of the UK Engineering Hall of Distinction. As a professional engineer, he has worked on projects throughout the US and internationally and served on a mine rescue team. Appalachian and mining history is a passion and a hobby, with collecting memorabilia, writing, and working on historic mining attractions. He and his wife, Karen Wilson, have owned several properties in Lexington’s historic districts and currently live in a 1900 Victorian house near Gratz Park.
