Mike Meuser
Mike Meuser is an attorney and active preservationist. Raised in Illinois and then Iowa, Mike obtained his law degrees from the University of Kentucky. In the early 1980s, he purchased a home in what is now the Aylesford Historic District and became active in neighborhood politics, serving as President of the Aylesford Place Neighborhood Association. He was recruited to the Blue Grass Trust board in 1990 and served three terms as President, during which he helped create the Aylesford Historic District, the largest in Lexington. He became chair of the Latrobe's Pope Villa Committee in 2000 and oversaw the completion of the construction of the portico and the restoration of the East, West, and South facades of the building. He thereafter served as chair of the Courthouse Area Design Review Board under two mayors.
