Brenna Pye
Brenna Pye is a public historian with 15 years of experience in non-profit administration and management. Though she is not a native Kentuckian, Brenna considers Central Kentucky her ancestral homeland and has spent her last seven years in Lexington developing projects that highlight the city’s rich Black history. She is passionate about making history accessible and relevant and is able to share that passion with the community through projects such as Lexington’s African American Heritage Walking Tour for the public library, and articles such as Slavery at Hopemont for the Blue Grass Trust. As a Blue Grass Trust Board Member, Brenna currently serves on both the DeTour and Preservation Matters committees. For Brenna, historic preservation is vital to protect and uplift traditionally marginalized communities and cultures.
