Phillip Tibbs

Phillip Tibbs is currently Professor and Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery of the University of Kentucky, and he is Director of the UK Spine Center. Phillip’s avocation is the study of history, and he is an avid preservationist as is evidenced by his restoration of Vardin’s in downtown Paris, KY, as well as his restoration, care, and maintenance of the house and grounds at Forest Retreat, the 1795 home of Kentucky governor and United States Senator Thomas Metcalfe, located in Nicholas County. Phil and his wife Trudy are very active on numerous civic and cultural organizations in Central Kentucky. Dr. Tibbs previously served on the Blue Grass Trust Board from 2007-2013.
